Welcome to the Enhancement Shaman guide for World of Warcraft the Burning Crusade 2.4.3. In this guide, you will learn about playing an Enhancement Shaman in dungeons and raids. The guide includes Talents, Gems, Enchantments, Gameplay & Skill rotation tips.
Best Races
Alliance
Draenei – As the sole choice for Alliance interested in playing a Shaman, Draenei don’t have much in terms of same-faction competition for best race when it comes to playing Shaman. However, it should be noted that Draenei do bring some interesting racial abilities to the table such as Gift of the Naaru, a free heal that is completed over time, and Inspiring Presence, a buff to your entire party that increases their Spell Hit Chance by 1%
Horde
Tauren – The Tauren are given two beneficial racial abilities outside of their Nature Resistance; War Stomp and Endurance. War Stomp provides the player with several benefits such as escaping trouble, controlling mobs, and helping orient the pull for the tank. Endurance provides a 5% increase to your total health
Troll – Trolls are given Berserking, and to a lesser extent, Beast Slaying. Berserking increases your attack speed by 10-30%, depending on your current health (the less you have, the bigger the increase will be) Beast Slaying increases damage caused to beasts by 5%
Orc – Orcs are given Axe Specialization, which increases their Expertise when equipped with either one-handed or two-handed Axes. Orcs are also given Blood Fury, which increases your attack power for a short time while reducing healing done to them by 50%
Best Professions
Leatherworking – Leatherworking is a fantastic idea, since you can not only craft various high-level pieces of armor such as Primalstrike Vest, but you can also craft Drums of Battle & Drums of War to benefit your group(s) even more. While most raid groups will no longer require their raiders to have Leatherworking since Blizzard implemented a debuff that comes from Drums of Battle & Drums of War, it’s always a welcome bonus to any group.
Blacksmithing – Blacksmithing offers players the opportunity to craft high-level weaponry that will see you through the entirety of Phase 1 such as Dragonmaw.
Note – While it may be recommended that you select both Leatherworking and Blacksmithing as your two professions, it should be noted that leveling these two to maximum rank without an alt or friend/guild that will help with materials, it may get incredibly expensive.
Enchanting – Enchanting is a great way to make gold via enchanting other players’ gear and receiving tips for your services, or disenchanting items that no one needs and selling the material(s) on the Auction House. One of the main reasons players choose Enchanting is to benefit from ring enchants, unique to Enchanters of high skill. The two that may appeal to Enhancement Shamans would be Enchant Ring – Stats and Enchant Ring – Striking
Alchemy – Throughout each phase, Alchemy allows players to craft their own consumables. When raiding and running heroics regularly, maintaining your consumables may be a costly endeavor. During Phase 5, players who choose Alchemy will be able to craft Assassin’s Alchemist Stone which is deemed one of the best trinkets in the game
Tailoring – For Enhancement Shamans Tailoring isn’t that beneficial. You would be able to craft your own bags and certain leg enchantments that would be beneficial if you were to switch to Elemental or Restoration down the line
Jewelcrafting – Jewelcrafters have access to gems that are unique to their profession. These gems are better in terms of stats provided than the ones players who don’t have Jewelcrafting have access to. For example, Jewelcrafters can use Crimson Sun, compared to Bright Living Ruby. It should be noted, however, that the gems unique to Jewelcrafters are unique, meaning you can only have one equipped at any one time. Jewelcrafters can also craft useful trinkets such as Figurine – Felsteel Boar in Phase 1 and Figurine – Khorium Boar in Phase 5
Engineering – Engineering is a great profession since it covers various aspects of the game. It allows players to craft high-level helmets such as Surestrike Goggles v2.0, beginning in Phase 2. It also allows players to craft items of celebration such as Blue Firework – although it should be noted that you are able to purchase these from the Auction House or venture into SM: Armory and pick some up for free. Engineers can also create bombs, dynamite and various other forms of destruction and mayhem
Gathering Professions – Gathering professions are a great way to supplement your income and be able to supply yourself with various materials needed to craft armor and weapons.
